Barbara,

To get to those 1024 ggggggggg grandparents in the 10th generation back you
would have to wade through 1022 great somethings in the preceding 9
generations. Therefore, going back 10 generations gives a person the
possibility of having 2046 direct parental ancestors. By the time you get to
the 20th generation the number rises to over 2 million. In my family from
rdal 8 generations have existed since the 1801 census and there have been
lots of first cousins getting married. So it doesn't take that long to get
there. I have noted no ill effects from all this intermarriage, only positive
ones, although there does seem to be an unusual love of potatoes.

The relationship calculator is part of the PAF program which can be purchased
from the Mormons for $15. (800-453-3860) Unfortunately the existing Forest
program won't work with the new 3.0 version of PAF. I am hoping Ann Turner
will write a new program.
