Richard!

Nice of you to tell us about your success with using the 1801 census. It is a
treasure for genealogists.

I don't know about the Enger farm although i have been close to this farm
several times, hiking, skiing and driving. It is found quite near Jevnaker. I
think the right totpographic map in the 1:50.000 series is 1815 II. I have just
the neighbour map, so I am not 100 % sure. An alternative is 1815 I. Perhaps a
good idea to order both.

The farm name is straight forward. An "eng" is a meadow. In O. Rygh's
reference work about origin of farm names I see that the name of this farm is
mentioned in written documents in 1595, 1604.

Have luck with your further research

Knut Bryn
