At the bottom is a Happy Holidays webring for you surfers

Thanksgiving for me is the time we go to one of the grandparents houses
for those very large meal(s). No Aunt Julie's gourmet surprise this year.
Lutefisk was very good. Plenty of leftovers. A time to get Christmas lists
out
to the grandparents. In the evening a tradition of driving around the lake
looking
at the Canadian Geese, deer and eagles with the grandparents.
A time to visit the cemeteries and see where our relatives are buried.
I showed my nephew Andrew who he was named after
and a few feet away was someone he got his middle name Anton from.
A time to tour the house of the relative that is holding thanksgiving this
year.
A time to see all of my first cousins and see how much they have grown since
last Easter. This year we watched the Minnesota Vikings win again.
A time to see all the various crafts being displayed in the house.
A time to get updated on various relatives. A time to remember
those that passed away in the family. A time to update my relatives on their
family tree. Latest update, Grandma has another relative that helped build
the
first Norwegian Church in America (Muskego Church).
A time for me to look at the stars away from the city lights.
About a dozen satellites and a few falling stars this year. No northern
lights.
A time to let all of my city friends that I can not come over to their place
for thanksgiving. I invited one woman who has no family in the area but
she declined so I mentioned her situation to a mutual friend of ours and
she accepted on that one (Home is three hour drive for me) so Thanksgiving
is a time to get together with friends and family. A time to forget about
work
for a long weekend. A time for a campfire roasting of hot dogs or whatever.
A time for me to update my relatives on what it is like to live in the Twin
Cities.
A time to explain email to my relatives that have never worked with a
computer.
Grandma Kolstad, "How much postage do you pay to send an email to Norway?"
Grandpa Kolstad, "Doesn't it get awfully expensive to send email to all those
people
on this Norway list?" And finally a time to hear my nephew Andrew Anton
Skogrand
say "UFF DA" for the very first time....he tripped over a log in the woods.
Hope this helps those in Norway. -Mike (with plenty of Lefse)
