So true Otto. We weren't rich either, but we had everything we
needed, and from what my American sister-in-law told me
about her upbringing they were certainly worse off that
we were. I think she would be extremely mad had anybody
told her she lived in extreme poverty.

May be they had heard about the rationing still being on in
Norway and just thought having rationing meant we were
poor.
