Hi Ed, Janni, Odd and others,

As Stephi said, there has been a misunderstanding regarding Torbjrn
Olavsson Sandven.

I have consulted with one of the experts on medieval genealogy in Norway and
he has informed me that the latest research was made by Anders Stlen and
published in the Norsk Slektshistorisk Tidsskrift, vol. XXXII, p. 70-74
(1989).

The medieval genealogist says:
<<< There is no definite information on the wife of Torbjrn Olavsson.
Herborg Pedersdatter was "invented" by Erik Bakkevig, probably from the name
of Torbjrn Olavsson's daughter who was married to Johannes Lauritsson at
Torsnes. There are indications that Torbjrn's mother was a Pedersdatter,
namely Kjerstin/Kirstine Pedersdatter from Torsnes who was married to Olav
Persson/Pedersson p Sandven. Kristine Kristoffersdatter (Tronds) was NOT
married to Torbjrn Olavsson p Sandven, but to a Torbjrn Olavsson til
'Nordtun, Nes' who signs the letter of inheritance after Kristoffer Trondsen
in 1578. In 1594 and 1597 she lives at the home of Mrs. Maria Lykke at
Kalsnes in Tune in stfold, and she must then be a widow. Torbjrn Olavsson
at Sandven is mentioned (and thus living) as late as in 1605. The conclusion
is that we do not at all know the name of the wife of Torbjrn Olavsson at
Sandven; neither her family connections. A thorough analysis of the
properties owned by Torbjrn's heirs is needed before we may hope to find
any more information.>>>

So it seems that both Bakkevig, Kolltveit and Torpe are wrong here...
and all the family genealogies which have been set up based on these
authors' books are also wrong.
