Dennis, The Peshtigo Fire was the same time as the Great Chicago Fire --
Oct. 8, 1871. If you check google.com and search for Peshtigo, you'll get
some great information and maps for the areas affected.

There was also a major fire in 1888 in Trempealeau, WI.
That, however, doesn't fit into your time period! I couldn't find anything
for the Blair area.
