Hi,
I am new to this list and would appreciate any help researching my
Andersen family.
My ggrandmothers name was Regina (Gina) Andersen. She was born
February 26, 1863 in Kristiania, Norway and was a daughter of Anders
Peetorsen and Anne Christensdatter.
The names of the other children of Anders and Anne were: Anton, born
Sept. 1847, Laura, Paulina, and Anna Andersen. Paulina was the only
child that did not emigrate to the USA.
Gina Andersen left for the USA on April 17, 1886 and went to
Washington D.C. where she was an indentured servant.
She left Washington D.C. and went to New York City where she married
Gustaf Adolph Lundberg on Aug. 19, 1888. Gustaf and Gina lived in
Brooklyn, New York for quite a few years and around 1912 they moved to
Massachusetts. Gina passed away in Jan. 1941 in Mattapan, Mass. They
lived in the suburbs of Boston, Mass.
I have a picture of the home of Gina Andersen in Norway. The name
GRANBAKKEN is on what appears to be a stone in front of the home. Can
someone tell me what Granbakken means in this picture?
Does anyone have any information regarding the parents of Gina
Andersen? Does anyone know anything about Paulina Andersen? I have some
inf. on the other siblings of Gina Andersen and am willing to share with
others.
Thank you.
Sandy
