I'm not certain that I'm quite ready to do this but...I guess one has to
start sometime.

I'm researching my husband's ancestors. They seem to have originated in
stre Toten, Oppland. I have some information on the family which I
received from a Karen Vosberg who lives in Fargo, North Dakota but would
like to fill in some of the blanks.

Grandfather: Gilbert NELSON b. 15 July 1874 Nome, Barnes Co., ND
married Bessie Maude ADAMS
Gr Grandfather: Nils NELSON/NILSON/NIELSEN b. 15 April 1842
married Anne Marie ANDERSDTR/DOTTER (HAGEN?)
Gr Gr Gr Grandfather: Nils EVENSON/EVENSEN d. 12 Aug 1850
married Johanna HALVORSDTR/DOTTER b. 30 Aug 1815
Gr Gr Gr Gr Grandfather: Even EVENSEN b.?
married Gunild NIELDATR/DOTTER b.?

Johanna HALVORSDTR was a child of Halvord NIELSEN and Katrine/Cattarine
DANIELSDATR b. 28 Aug 1788. She had a second marriage to Anders JOHANNESEN
25 APRIL 1873

Halvord NIELSEN b. 21 Mar 1793 was a child of Niels HALVORSEN b. 1767 and
Johanne GULBRANSDTR b. 1765.

Katrine/Cattarine DANIELSDTR was a child of Daniel JENSEN b. 1758 and Mari
PEDERSDTR b. 1760

Other surnames associated with the family I'm researching are:
OLSEN, HANSDTR, JENSEN, ARNESDTR, KNUDSDTR. These are names connected to
Anne Mare ANDERSDTR wife of Nils NILSON (Great Grandfather).

I'm really not sure about the spellings of these names but I'm doing the
best I can. Some place names that have come up are(please bear with me):
Ouren, Faarland, Rognstad, Skremstad, Balke, Trogstad, Fjeldhoug,
Molbergs... and others. Perhaps someone can suggest a map site that might
help me to locate some of these places or even just a good map site for
Norway?

I apologize for the length of this posting. I hope it isn't too confusing.
