I visited the Emigration Museum on my trip to Norway in 1999. But I had
reason to go there as I wanted to look at church records and the censuses. At
that time not all the areas of Norway were on-line for the 1865 Census and
even parts of the 1900 census. It sounds like you may not need their help!
I agree that Stavanger was a nice place to visit, so there are other easons
to go to Stavanger than the Emigration Museum. The waterfront area is very
interesting and we found great fish restaurants there. We aslo enjoyed local
museums and we were sorry that the Domkirke was closed for renovations in
1999. Hope you enjoy your visit.
