This matter comes up now and then on this list. A cousin explained to me a
few years ago that such unions, with great age differences, were not unusual
in Norway. Property moved laterally, i.e. via re-marriage following
widowhood or widowerhood and not vertically like father to child. The
marriages were viewed more as business mergers than love matches. Travis
