Hi Sue,
Is it possible she was
christened in 1805 but born in 1803 before Anne married Hans? I know it
was
usually done much sooner but if she was born prior to marriage might they
have
waited?
No, if she was born in 1803 they would rather have married much earlier.
Feel sure that Siri was born around Jan 1805.
Siri and Hans had two sons that immigrated to the US in the 1850s, Hans and
Halvor. They were 4 years apart in age. Since Siri's father was Hans and
Hans' father was Hans should I be looking for another Hans between Hans and
Halvor
or did they not necessarily name their first two sons after the
grandfathers
if it was the same name?
A wise question. One could expect two sons Hans. However, I have a database
indicating that there were only the sons Hans and Halvor, but I can not say
for sure.
I have sent some info to the Hadeland lag project but not recently and I do
have more info now, thanks to the great people on this list. I will send
the
additional info.
Good to hear that you send info. I also know that Ole Gamme, the leader of
this emigrant project in Norway, has sent you a mail with some info about
your people. Hope that you have got that.
Gunnar
