Hi Mary!
This has been hanging there for a while and I had hoped for a more
definitive answer from one of our Norwegians.
Some where in my past (there is lots of it) I read that the the government
was getting a little concerned about the flood of emigration to America.
Some sort of arrangement was made for people, presumably with incentives, to
move to Nordland. The name Dunderland comes to mind. Maybe someone can
explain?
