Erik,
I could not find Jorgen or Christian in the 1920 and 1930 censuses. You did
not mention when Martin was born but I did find the following.

1880 US Census, City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, census roll
T9_1437, ED 127, page 8d, living at 466(?) 6th Street, enumerated 2 June 1880.

Marten Jorgenson (head, married, age 35, born in Norway, sailor), Mathilda
(wife, married, age 30, born in Norway, keeping house), John (son, age 7, born
in Norway), Caroline (daughter, age 5, born in Wisconsin), Rudolph (son, age 3,
born in Wisconsin), Emma (daughter, age 5 months, born in Wisconsin) and
Caroline Sorenson (mother-in-law, age 64, born in Wisconsin).

If this is the correct family, then it appears that Mathilda was living with
her daughter and son-in-law in 1920.

1920 US Census, Sisseton Township, Roberts County, South Dakota, census roll
T625_1726, ED 259, page 1b, enumerated 7 January 1920.

Edgar E. Babb (or Bobb) (head, age 51, married, born in Minnesota, father
born in Ohio, mother born in Indiana), Caroline (wife, age 44, born in Wisconsin,
parents born in Norway), Edna Lillian (daughter (age 5, born in Canada) and
Mathilda Jorgenson (mother-in-law, age 70, widow, emigrated in 1875, is a
naturalized citizen, she and parents born in Norway).

Are these the correct families?? It is worth noting that Milwaukee is a port
city on Lake Michigan so it is logical that Marten might have been a sailor.

Concerning Georg and Tillie Jorgenson, in the 1930 census they were ages 47
and 35, respectively.
