There is a book by Wil Huygen and illustrated by Rein Poortvleit titled Gnomes. The
author does describe the different kinds of underworld creatures, including trolls,
nisse, and etc. This book is available, new and used, at amazon.com -

I also see listed at amazon another book, but I don't know anything about it - The
