Do you know if Jakob was born in Skjåk? If he wasn't or didn't marry into a
family from there then I am not likely to find him in any of my books. Have
you found him in the census as I found a good possibility and wondered if it
was him.

If it is him, then it showed him born in Vaage. I did find a good
possibility later on in the census and it showed a Jakob Nilson in Skjåk. I
didn't find any reference to a Brodal farm in this area. Do you know the
names of any of his parents or siblings? The books aren't indexed but I can
search the pages for names but it helps to know as much as possible.
