The German who'd just retired back to his home town from the big city of
Minneapolis walked into the Muni [this was long enough ago that all
municipal liquor stores were still called 'the muni'] and announced he'd
just heard a great Norwegian joke.

Ole, who was sitting there with Sven and the guys, looks up and says,
"You'd better not tell dat yoke here. I'm Norwegian and proud of it."
Sven leans across to Ole and says, "Oh, dat's okay. Ve'll explain it to
you afterwards."
