Joseph FARRELL, a former jockey at Belmont Park, died yesterday at Saranac
Lake, N.Y. He is survived by his mother. The funeral will be held Monday at 10
A.M. from his late home 1850 Nostrand avenue, with requiem mass at the Church
of the Holy Cross, Church and Rogers avenues. Interment will be at Holy Cross
Josephine LEBRECHT died Thursday in Kings County Hospital. She was born in
New York City seventy-two years ago. She is survived by five sons, Frederick,
George, Frank, Jacob and William. The Rev. Dr. J. R. HENRY of the Bowery
Mission will conduct the funeral services at 8 P.M. tomorrow at her late home
1508 DeKalb avenue, near Irving avenue. Interment at 2 P.M. Monday will be at
Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of William BIERMANN, 226 Wilson avenue.
Katie EHMKE HOFFMAN died yesterday at her home, 108 King street. She is
survived by her husband Charles HOFFMAN, for many years engaged in the butcher
business, and one sister, Anna SCHUMANN. The Rev. Dr. Henry C. OFFERMAN of St.
Pauls German Lutheran Church will conduct the funeral services at 2 P.M.
Monday. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Joseph
REDMOND, 103 King street.
Edward J. BROWN died yesterday at his home, 160 Newton street. He was
employed by the Winthrop Public Library, North Henry street and Engert avenue.
He is survived by his widow, Sadie MURDOCK BROWN; two sons Robert and Edward
and one daughter Grace BROWN. The funeral services will be held at 2 P.M.
Monday. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under direction of Thomas T.
CREAMER, 64 Herbert street.
Frank HARTH died yesterday in his fifty-seventh year at his home 1858
Willoughby avenue. He is survived by three sons, Adam, Frank and Joseph, and
five daughters, Anna MUENKEL, Emma HAMANN, Martha KELLER, Barbara MOORE and
Lillian HARTH. The funeral will be held at 9:30 A.M. Tuesday with requiem mass
at the Church of St. Aloysius. Interment will be at St. Johns Cemetery under
the direction of Charles SANDER, 202 Jefferson street.
Joan Marie GAMSJAGER, daughter of Walter GAMSJAGER and Kathryn RHATIGAN
GAMSJAGER died Thursday at her home, 62 Madison street. She was a member of
the Nativity Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by one
brother, Donald GAMSJAGER, and her grandparents. The funeral will be held
today at 2 P.M. with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of
William DUNIGAN Son, 201 Park avenue.
Joseph PORTELLE died Thursday at his home 153 Degraw street. He was born in
Italy and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church for the past forty years.
He is survived by one son, Frank PORTELLE. Funeral from his late home Monday
at 9:30 A.M. with solemn requiem mass at Sacred Heart Church, Hicks and Degraw
streets, at 10 A.M. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of John
F. FAGAN, Henry and Warren streets.
