Subject: OBIT- MARIE MONNOT MENEGAY, Stark County 1899
Date: Sat, 9 Oct 1999 14:35:48 EDT

Mrs. Marie Menegay, relict of the late Frank Menegay, died Tuesday,
December 19, 1899 at the home of her son, Emil Menegay, just west of
Louisville. She had been sick for a number of weeks, and her death was caused
by a complication of troubles.
The deceased was born in Villarssous, Danjoux, Dept du Doubs, France, on
February 8, 1826, and was therefore nearly 74 years old at the time of her
death. Her maiden name was Marie Monnot and she came to America with her
parents in 1840. In 1842 she was married to Frank Menegay, and they lived
happily together until 1894, when Mr. Menegay died. Seven children were born
to them, four of whom are living. They are Louis S. Menegay, Emil Menegay,
Mrs. August Paumier, and Mrs. Frank Rebillot, all residing in or near
Louisville.
The funeral services were held at the Catholic church this morning and
were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Father Senner. The attendence was very
large, the deceased having during her long years of residence here formed a
large aquaintanceship, and gained the respect and esteem of all. The body was
buried in the Catholic Cemetery, south of Louisville.
