MISS WALSH'S ENGAGEMENT TO MR. THONE ANNOUNCED
Marriage Will Take Place on October 15; Date Is Told at Party Given Saturday at Petrie's by Two Sisters of the Bride-elect.
At a bridge tea Saturday afternoon at Petrie's given by Miss Ann Walsh of Urbana and Mrs. Fred Jones of Dayton, the engagement and approaching marriage of their sister, Miss Marcella Walsh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Walsh of Urbana, to Mr. Franklin S. Thone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thone, 95 Deshler Ave., was announced.
The wedding will take place in Columbus on Tuesday morning, October 15, at 9 o'clock in Holy Rosary Church.
The bride-elect has been residing in this city for the past several years at 1560 E. Broad St. she is a graduate of St. Mary's School at Urbana, and attended Ohio State University, where she was pledged to Theta Phi Alpha Sorority. Mr. Thone attended Ohio State University and was a member of Phi Kapa Psi Fraternity. They will make their home in Columbus following their marriage.
Pouring at the tea table at the announcement party were Miss Marian Hennessy of Columbus and Miss Esther Edmondson of Urbana.
Others present includes Mrs. Frank Thone, Miss Martha Thone, Miss Dorothy Thone, Mrs. C.C. Stein, Mrs. John A. Dodd, Mrs. A. R. Reitelbach, Miss Harriet Jones, Miss Florence Bush, and Miss Kathryn Sheeran of this city; Mrs. W. E. Walsh, Mrs. Joseph Metzger, Mrs. George Mott, Jr., Mrs. John McLaughlin, Jr., Mrs. Paul Stropp, Mrs. John R. McCarthy, Miss Nellie Henchen and Miss Mary Harrigan, all of Urbana; Mrs. K. R. Caulkins of Richmond, Ind., and Mrs. Sylvan Merritt of Troy, Ohio.
