Miss Nancy Byrd Howe, 1793 Andover Rd., was elected junior president of the newly ortanized "Tarhe" Society, Children of the American Revolution, at a tea Saturday afternoon at the Columbus Women's Club.
Ben L. Pfefferle, jr., 194 Winthrop Rd., was chosen vice president of the new junior chapter; Miss Ruth Zane Moore of Westerville is secretary, Miss Florence Vivian Priest, 372 Weber Rd., treasurer; Miss Rachel Vines, 145 S. Harris Ave., registrar, and Robert Bruce Tussing of Reynoldsburg is flagbearer.
Mrs. Charles Russell Petree, 125 Richards Rd.; is the senior president, and will help direct the society.
The members of the organizing committee who have served since the inception of the society; include Mrs. W. T. Brandon, 1326 Madison Ave.; Mrs. W. B. McLeskey, 23 Riverview Park Dr.; Mrs. W. L. Leckie, 104 S. Columbia Ave., and Mrs. W. W. Williams, 2222 Fairfax Rd.
The roster for charter membership will be held open until next May when the regular annual election of officers will take place.
Pouring at the tea table Saturday afternoon were Mrs. C. B. Malone and Mrs. C. B. Gailbreath, and state oficers who gave greetings and talks were Miss Amanda Thomas, state central district director of D.A.R.; Mrs. George E. Malone, state director of C.A. R., and Miss Rosalie Haddox, state promoter for this district for C.A.R.
