Subject: [OHMONTCO] Some Useful Web Sites
Here are two very interesting and useful web sites that contain information
by state, including interactive maps, vital records information, military
history, etc. Actually you can switch back and forth between these pages
from links at the top of each site. Through the maps, you can see how the
states and counties were formed by year. This can be helpful in tracking
the migration path of your ancestor.
Also, click on the drop-down arrow beside the "Terms and Definitions" box.
Then click on "General Terms." At this point a second page will open and
you will have to click on "Terms" again. You will have to select a letter
of the alphabet. This list includes all those strange words and Latin
words
we see in wills, deeds and other old documents.
Northeastern States:
Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Illinois, Maine, Maryland,
Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey,
New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Rhode Island
