Funeral services for Nellie Marie Teal, 86, longtime Nowata and Washington
County resident, who died Monday, March 12, 2001 in the Bartlesville Care
Center were held Friday, March 16 in the First Christian Church in officiated
and interment followed in Mt. Washington Cemetery at Lenapah under the
direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata. The family suggests that
friends who wish may remember the 10-33 Emergency Team at 321 E. cherokee
in Nowata.
Nellie began this life on January 11, 1915 at Lenapah as the daughter of
Adam H. and Minerva Jane Mils Chaney. She lived in Nowata and Washington
Counties most of her life except for a time in California. She met and
later was untied in marriage with Fred Wayland Teal on November 10, 1958
in California. Mrs. Teal was of the Christian faith and she enjoyeed reading
and quilting.
Mrs. Teal is survived by one step-son, Eddie Teal, by two nieces, one nephew,
other relatives and her many friends. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Fred W. Teal on January 7, 1990; by her parents; two step-sons,
Jimmy and Tommy Teal; by one brother, Fred Chaney and by one sister, Velma
Carey.
