Antony wrote me recently
as I'd previously mentioned on the list that his cousin in London,
also into family research and source of some of his family history
and as said, closely related to Antony
was also a descendent of a CADMAN-PACE family of Addersley, Shropshire
situated about 8 miles from my PACE ancestors in the 1700s.
This is a coincidence
but interesting non the less.
Ellen Cadman says:
Isn't this strange, my Cadman side (from Shropshire) didn't know the
London Pace side till my Grandfather married one, and for years I have
been trying to find a link between your Shropshire Pace's and my London
Pace's.
Anthony is my Dad's late Cousin's son and most of the family data he has
I gave him. But thanks anyway. Just out of interest I know your side
come from Shropshire area. On my Cadman side c 1703 I have John Cadman
marry a Jane Pase in Addersley, Shropshire, does this ring any bells?
Yes, I had her (Jane Pase) in my Pace family records.
JOHANNES CADMAN
Spouse: JANE PASE
Marriage: 09 JUN 1703 Adderley, Shropshire
In English records, unlike early Virginia records, there is little info
to research other than actual parish registers. Land holding was in the
name of the lord or baron as in the Feudal System of yore. I think many
emigrated for the prospect of owning their own land in the new colony.
That's just my opinion.
Ellen sent me her elaborate family lineage
which I'll work on eventually.
