That's what I thought. Unfortunately the Aycock letter is not accepted by the Jamestowne Society or other genealogists. Ruth Keys Clark pointed out that there was more than one Richard Pace in Virginia at the time and there is no way to prove which one was Winifred's ancestor. On the Pace Network, I have a summary of other Paces in Virginia, of which we have found several, and there are at least three Richards.

1. As far as I am aware there is no documentation that John b.1725, and I am
assuming this is John of Surry, NC, was a son of anyone. He may well be the
son of Richard & Sarah Woodlief and probably is but I know of no
documentation.
2. The only documentation I am aware of that James was a son of Richard II
b. is the Aycock letter. As far as I am aware, there is no documentation as
to who the children of James were.
