Hi Everyone,
Here is a record of Civil War Service for Anderson PACK (b. abt 1838 in
Lawrence Co, KY). From what I can tell in my data base, Anderson is the s/o
George PACK, Jr. & Sara LAIN. Does anyone know the exact unit and regiment
designation for the Company Captain Dameron commanded?
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, KNOW YE, That Anderson Pack, a Private of
Captain Thomas Damerons Company ( ), Virginia Volunteers, who was enrolled
on the First day of October one thousand eight hundred and Sixty-one to
serve three years is hereby DISCHARGED from the service of the United
States, this Twenty Sixth day of March, 1862, at Ceredo, Virginia by reason
of Orders from the War Department (No objection to his being re-enlisted is
known to exist.*)
Said Anderson Pack was born in Lawrence County in the State of Kentucky, is
Twenty Two years of age; five feet nine inches high, fair complexion, light
eyes, light hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a Farmer.
GIVEN at Ceredo, VA this 26 day of March, 1862.

OATH OF IDENTITY
_________ of the town of __________ County of Lawrence in the State of
Kentucky.
On this 8 day of March in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six
personally appeared before me, the undersigned, a Justice of the Peace for
the county and State above mentioned, Anderson Pack who, being duly sworn
according to law, declares that he is the identical Anderson Pack who was a
Private in the company commanded by Captain Thos. Dameron; that he enlisted
on the 1st day of October 1861 for the term of three years and was
discharged at Ceredo, VA on the 26 day of March 1862 by reason of Orders
from the War Department.

I, R. Vinson, Clerk of the Lawrence County Court, and State aforesaid, do
hereby certify that the foregoing discharge of Anderson Pack a Private in
the United States Army, was this day produced to me in my office and filed
for record; whereupon the same, together with Oath of Identity and
certificate, and this certificate, have this day been duly recorded in my
office.
