I am also researching a PIATT/ROSS union. My g-g grandfather was a James Lewis/Louis PIATT (no other info) m. Damaris/Damarcus ROSS b. Dec. 27, 1857 Adams Co., OH d. Dec. 31, 1924 Adams Co., OH. Children: Michael 'Mich' PIATT (my g-grandfather) b. 6/17/1874 and Henry PIATT b. ca 1876- both born Adams Co., OH. This Damaris ROSS m (2) Ian BOLIN/BOWLIN and had two other sons. Her PIATT sons were adopted/apprenticed to Michael ZINKHORN and Eleanora TAYLOR ZINKHORN before 1880. Both boys adopted the ZINKHORN name and eventually dropped the r ca. 1890.

I have contacted PIATT CASTLES in West Liberty, OH and am anxiously awaiting the Family Packet that they distribute. It will have genealogy of the 'Castle PIATTS' included. Maybe my James will show up there. I have much more info on the maternal lines of Damaris ROSS.
