Hello list!, this is your friendly listowner again!
I just wanted to say thank you for all the great postings in reply to
the Roll Call! Remember, we're getting a new list member or two every
day, so it's to your benefit to post your information again every so
often. And for anyone who may have missed the first roll call, please
feel free to jump in at any time with a summary of you PIATT
ancestry...we can probably help you around your brick wall!
Here is the URL for a very nice genealogy search engine:
http://www.gensource.com/ifoundit/
I have my own PIATT site listed there, and there are a few others
(sorry, but I don't know about entries for other spellings). It's a
good site--it seems to be made up only of sites submitted by the site
owners.
Which brings me to another question--are there many sites out there
amongst our list members for genealogy, especially PIATT (&c)
genealogy? Is there any interest in creating a PIATT web ring? I have
one half way started, but I'm on new territory here...
And another question...what is the general mood of the list towards
creating a small site for the list, including a member's line (from
oldest to grandparents) with contact information? I am probably biting
off more than I can chew here, but I'd be willing to set it up and
maintain it....
I'm open to ideas and suggestions (within reason!)! Reply to the list,
or to me directly.
Let's keep the information flowing!
Thanks, and good luck,
Christine in Chicago
