PIATT is the 7,656 th most common name in the 1990 US Census...

PYATT is the 9,404 th,

PYEATT is the 45,800 th,

PIETTE is the 61,176 th,

and PYETTE is the 79,505 th.


Just a little food for thought. Those are the only spellings that came
up when I searched through the 1990 Census returns (and that's all the
information available). I also checked

PIAT
PIET
PIOT
PYOT
PIETT
PIOTT
PYOTT
PYETT
PYEAT
and PYEATTE

So maybe it's not so hard of a task before us--at least it's not SMITH,
JOHNSON, WILLIAMS, JONES, BROWN, or DAVIS......
