It's a toss-up whether there were more Benjamin Piatts or Jacob Piatts. At
any rate there were quite a few of each.

The Benjamin Piatts in Monroe Co that Tim lists are from the line that came
across PA:

Alley lists a Benjamin Piatt who married Rachel McWilliams and wound up in
Bartholomew Co IN. At the same time there was a second Benjamin Piatt in
Bartholomew Co who had married Ann Carter. While researching in Bartholomew
Co I found that the sheriff attempted to serve papers on one Benjamin only to
have that Benjamin deny being the right one. When the Sheriff went to the
second Benjamin, he too, denied being the right Benjamin. We aren't the only
ones struggling to keep our Benjamins straight.
