Hi Janis,

Clarissa Piatt, aged 16, (b c1834), is listed in the 1850 census of
Bartholomew Co IN in the household of Benjamin and Rachel McWilliams Piatt,
presumably her parents. Bartholomew Co IN marrige book C5, page 164, gives
the marriage of Clarissa Piatt and Anderson Franklin as 22 Jul 1852. The time
and place are right for both these Clarissas to be the same.

So, yes, Clarissa would be a daughter of the one Benjamin who most often
spelled his name Pyatt in Bartholomew Co IN. This Benjamin was the son of
James and Mary Donahue Piatt who were married in Virginia. This last couple
of one of several "brick walls" in Piatt research. The assumed link back to
New Jersey has not yet been found.
