I sent a short e-mail several weeks ago, concerning John Bear Piatt's
journal, a History of the Piatt Family, to Anne Sbarbaro via the Piatt-L
site. I have had quite a number of people with various inquiries. For
those of you who subscribed to Eleanor White's Piatt Family Newsletter, Lynn
published it in Volume 8, #2, 3 and 4 on pages 15-33, she also published my,
"Trail of Two Guys," which brought my side of the family up to date from
John Bear's Journal....he was my great Grandfather....to 1992. This ran in
Volume 8, #10, (Oct 1993 through Vol. 12, Dec. 1993.

I have also hunted through my files and come up with a little booklet
first published in 1978 and reprinted in 1987 by the Cinncinnati Gas and
Electric Co. It is called Piatt's Landing East Bend. It is a booklet full
of stories and anecdotes about Piatt's. One article that interested my side
of the family was a story written by his John Bear's son John James Piatt
who was noted for his writings and poetry about the death of his father,
James A. Piatt, my Great Great Grandfather.
which is the only place I have ever seen an account of his death. I imagine
it would be available, possibly from the Utility Co. that published the
booklet.

I still have perhaps a dozen of the transcribed copies of John Bear's
journal, I have asked $3.50 for this booklet, because it just a little more
than covers the cost of mailing it. my e-mail address is
