Hi Liz,
Really busy busy. Been going away a few days at a time, some for research
and some for fun. Sorry to be so late with a reply.
Yes, it does one good to constantly review. I do it often. The 1830 census
does not give names but I assume Joseph Paxton was one of those that would
have had to be born in Pottsville, not Pottstown. Yes, I have seen that
before, David being the second child of ten children. However, I am not sure
of that, because if he was related to the other ones in the area then he
could not have been the second son.
Supposedly, David and family went to Ohio ca1834. David was born 11/1797 and
was a carpenter when in Schuykill County.
One interesting thing here is that Bertha F. married to Walter McLean was
married in Canada. They must have returned to the US to be able to take care
of that child Mattie. It sure shows that we still need more research on the
line.
