David - I am sorry to say I have data on only three sons of Rene and
Elizabeth Sheffield Piatt -- Jacob and Thomas the two you have researched and
another son you do not mention, John who was married to Frances VanVliet.
John and Frances had 4 sons, Daniel, Jacob, William and Abraham. Captain
William was born in 1743 and married Sarah Shotwell (one of my numerous Piatt
connections). I am sorry I have nothing further about the other three sons
of William and Frances. I hope someone will be able to fill in the blanks on
Rene II, James and Samuel.
