Tomorrow I will be signing and returning the contract for the 2001 Piatt
Researchers' Conference. I was going to wait until I had received my copy
back from the college before making the posting but there was a question on
the list about the dates and location yesterday. So I will post the
information and I _hope_ it is not subject to change.

We had hoped to be in New Jersey, near Trenton, for 2001. However, there are
strange insurance regulations in New Jersey and we were not able to secure a
college there, although not for not trying. Special thanks go to Richard O
Piatt for a personal contact made at one of the colleges there.

Nevertheless, we do have what I think will be a pleasant and suitable site
nearby in PA.

17th PIATT RESEARCHERS' CONFERENCE
24-30 JUNE 2001
DELAWARE VALLEY COLLEGE, Doylestown PA.

Rooms are $20 per person per night. Breakfast only will be $3.00. (I believe
this is only a pay if you eat situation but I will have to confirm it.

invitation is open to anyone interested in the Piatt/Pyatt, etc surname.

Emphasis will be on gathering records from the State Archives at Trenton NJ
and in Hunterdon and surrounding counties of NJ. Bucks Co PA where Doylestown
is would offer research opportunities. I understand there is a nice library
in Flemington NJ, too. Morristown NJ and Jockey Hollow would be about an hour
and a half away.

Do consider joining us. Let's put faces on these e-mails we have been
exchanging. And let's all keep our digits crossed that posting this
information before having the signed contract in hand will not jinx the event.
