Thank you, Marianne, for posting the information about JACOB and MARY HULL
PIATT, of the second and third generation of Piatts in New Jersey. This
information was also published in the Piatt Family Newsletter, Volume 1, 1986.
What was published in PFN is in agreement with Marianne's posting with minor
differences which I will list here. I list the differences for informational
purposes only. Further research will have to determine which variation is
correct. Differences are set off with underscores.

Jacob Piatt died in Cumberland _Valley_ PA
Mary Hull's birth 4 Feb _1861/1862_
Mary Hull died _probably in PA_
Dinah's birth 3 Feb _1704/1704_
Dinah's marriage _about_ 1722
Dinah was the third wife of Jonathan Martin
Younger Jacob's birth 14 Jan _1705_
Pierre/Peter's birth 19 Jan _1707/1708_
Rachel 's birth 25 Sep _1709_
Rachel baptized 15 Oct 1717, First Reformed Church, Somerville NJ
Thomas moved to Elizabethtown NJ
John's marriage year _1739_
Mary's birth year _not given_
Samuel's birth _c1718_

Sources cited for the listing in Volume 1 of the Piatt Family Newsletter were:

Kearney, Joseph N, YE COLONIAL KINSMEN, 1978
Monnette, Orra E, FIRST SETTLERS OF YE PLANTATIONS OF PISCATAWAY AND
WOODBRIDGE, OLDE EAST NEW YERSEY, 1664-1714
Ravenscroft, Ruth Thayer, FAMILY OF PIATT, PYATT, PYEATTE, PYEATT, ETC, 1958
Dally, Rev Joseph W, VITAL RECORDS OF WOODBRIDGE NJ, Hunterdon House,
Lambertville NJ, 1983

Of this family father and son Jacob are likely the two who were licensed
Indian traders in the Path Valley of PA in the 1760s and later. Son John
became John "of France" although he was born in New Jersey.

We hope to discover more about the early New Jersey Piatts at the Piatt
Researcher's Conference at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown PA this
summer--June 24-30.
