I show the line of descent to the JOHN PIATT who married MILLICENT RIDDLE as thus:

.Rene Piatt and Elizabeth Sheffield
..Jacob Piatt and Mary Hull
...John Piatt and Frances Van Vliet (the widow Wyckoff)
....Daniel Piatt and Catherine Sherrard
.....Robert Piatt and Nancy Jones
......John Piatt and Millicent Riddle

John D Piatt who married Jane Henarie was a brother to Robert Piatt who
married Nancy Jones and thus an uncle to the John who married Millicent
Riddle. The the overuse of the same names among all the Piatt branches it is
quite easy to get a couple of John Piatts crossed.
