I'm sure this isn't what you are wanting, but I thought
I would pass along my opinion as a "genealogical detective"
[a title I just bestowed upon myself].

Dates and spelling of names of John Pyeatt looks like
he could well have been the s/o John Piatt and Martha Blair
b. between sons Jacob Pyeatt and James Pyeatt
who was b. 1768 Rowan Co., NC.
2nd clue: He named a son Jacob.
His grandfather could have been Jacob [1704 NJ] father
of John who m. Martha Blair
