As a boy in my family it was "Pie'-it", and the only time I ever heard "Pee-ott'" was it an aunts graduation, When I went into the military I was called "Pee-ott'". Coming home most of the family had also changed to saying "Pee-ott'". As you can see not even the Piatts' know how to say their name, But we're still good people.
