I have spoken with the woman whose last name is Piette and convinced her to start
her own research on her line--she has never attempted previously. Her father
lives in Western Ontario and is one of 13 children. She knows there were at least
the last 5 generations of Piette's in Canada and her family legend says that they
immigrated directly from france (no stop in NJ first!) so we will see what we can
find out. She also says she is pretty sure there was another spelling in previous
generations and promises to find out what that was. Her mother was a Gerrard and
has been researching that family for some time so maybe we can get some help from
her as well.

PS for Laverne...Can we have the conference in the Virgin Islands next year *huge
grin*
