Marianne and Listers--
This Pyeatt spelling I have seen on the Dawes Roll or the Guion Miller Roll
(displaced Cherokees) many years ago. I never followed up on the name because
at the time I didn't think it was a connection to my direct line and I had no
earthly idea how to research native americans.
I can tell you too that most of the West Virginia Pyatt's are P-y Pyatts and
sometimes census takers spelled it Pyeatt because that's the way it sounds
pye--att
Just my random thoughts,
Robin
