Elise -
It gets even stranger: in 1815 John
Pyeatte, s/o (Maj.) Jacob and Margaret
Finley Pyeatte, married Martha (Patsy)
Carnahan, sister of Sam'l. Carnahan
(who had wed Mary Pyeatte, d/o
Maj. Jacob and Margaret Fiinley
Pyeatte). John died in 1823, whereupon
Martha married Andrew F. Pyeatte,
John's brother. Andrew died in 1837,
and Martha Carnahan Pyeatte married
Jeff Cabe (marriage #3 for Martha).
After Martha's death, Jeff Cabe
married Margaret Pyeatt (the widw Pierce).
Then, we have Finis Ewing Pyeatt and his sister, Paulina (s/o,d/o
John and Martha Carnahan) marrying Eizabeth
Maxwell and Edley Maxwell (her bother)
respectively, in a double ceremony
in 1836, Arkansas.
There may be more, but that's it from
the accounts that I have at hand.
Reading back over this, it looks kinda'
tangled - I hope you can navigate your
way through it. It may help to draw
it out in a diagram. Good luck, and
happy hunting. . .
Ed
