SOLOMON PIATT was born in 1824 in Trotwood, Montgomery Co OH and died 24 Jul
1864 at the US Army Hospital in Chattanooga TN. He is buried in the National
Cemetery in Chattanooga, Sec F Div 1 Grave 68. On 7 June 1845 he married
NANCY BOZE in Dayton, Montgomery Co OH. The couple had 6 children: Mary
Ellen, Sarah Ann, David L, Isaac Ivan, Samuel Elias, Stephen Wesley.

Solomon Piatt was the son of JOHN PIATT and REBECCA _____? This couple was in
the Montgomery Co OH census for 1820. Little further is known of this couple.
A county history mentioning some of their sons states that the couple would
have had ties to Rockingham and/or Rockbridge Co VA. However, research there
and in Augusta Co VA has revealed little more and nothing as yet to establish
the link to New Jersey and to Rene Piatt, a link which is strongly suspected.
