For Richard Rantz, who posted to the list on 27 Jul 2001:
I don't have a Harriet Bell Piatt in my records but it is possible that she
was a descendant of John and Rebecca Piatt who were in the 1820 Ohio census
for Montgomery Co OH. Some of the descendants of John and Rebecca went to
Darke Co OH with others being across the state line in Jay and Randolph
Counties in Indiana.
I would suggest that you check the 1900 census for Montgomery, Darke and
surrounding counties to see if you can find a 16 year old Harriet in the
household of those who would presumably be her parents. Or perhaps you could
obtain her death certificate which should name her parents. With that
information we could probably make a connection.
