Hi again list...You know after reading the last newsletter listed below from
Laverne, I feel my missing unplaceable Elizabeth HANNAH Piatt, whose parents
are susposed to be Moses and Jane? She born in Ohio and parents from WV.?as
per family memories given to me from a found cousin in WI., may have
belonged to this first family of children.? Hannah as the name she went
by, was born 1828.,in Hamilton co. Ohio.
JUST maybe some day a newby in genealogy will come aboard and have the
missing key!
Does anyone on this list live in this area? Be willing in their Spare! time
to look at any public records to see if they can find any info on my 3rd grt
grandmother? I would be very thankfull to compensate you for your work.

(Sorry it's taken me this long to work backwards in my e-mail to your
posting
to the PIATT-L list last November 2. Here's the lineage up to WILLIAM PIATT
and ELLA [PRECIOUS] (MARY?) KEENE, then we run into a snag:

.Rene Piatt and Elizabeth Sheffield (NJ)
..Jacob Piatt and Mary Hull (NJ, PA)
...Jacob Piatt and Jean Paul (PA)
....Jacob Piatt and Elizabeth Dunham (Washington Co PA)
.....James Piatt Sr and Nancy Coleman (Monroe Co OH)
......James Piatt Jr and Catherine Moffett (Monroe Co OH)
.......William Piatt and Mary Keene (Monroe Co OH) [was she also known as
Precious and/or Ella?]

William's family is really confused because his first wife died while there
were several young children. Those young children apparently were sent to
live with others. William then married a widow, Hannah Ferrel Dixon, who
had
three children of her own. Only the Dixon children and the children William
had with Hannah lived with him afterward as far as I can tell.

To complicate matters, the birth date for William and Ella [Precious] (Mary)
Keene Piatt's son John is "about 1855." He is also listed as John H rather
than John N. This John did marry a Jane and was living with her in Green
District, Wetzel Co WV in 1880 with their son Harry aged 1 month. Is this a
match for your John Nelson Piatt? If so you fit right in with these Monroe
Co
Piatts listed in David Eckert's posting of November 3.
