I have Piatts who lived in OH in early 1800s and prior to that in PA. My
Grandmother Mary Lavina Smith had a brother who died in youth. He had the
middle name of Amfield. I have never figured out the significance but
perhaps it was misspelled and should have been Armfield. My Grandmother's
maiden name was Longden and her maternal Grandparents were Lowe's. Other
surnames are Dougherty, Conger, Gobles. There is considerable information
