Thanks for posting the information from the Isaiah Piatt
Bible. It is a treasure, to be sure.

ISAIAH PIATT was the ninth and last child of WILLIAM
PIATT and HANNAH TINDALL PIATT. WILLIAM PIATT was
born 19 May 1792 in Hackettstown NJ, d 2 Nov 1859 in
Lima, LaGrange Co IN and is buried in Pretty Prairie
Cemetery in LaGrange Co. HANNAH TINDALL PIATT was born
18 Jan 1800 in NJ and died 29 Nov 1852 in LaGrange Co
IN. HANNAH is buried in the Eldridge Cemetery in
Elkhart Co IN, less than a mile from the LaGrange Co
line.

Both ISAIAH and MARY PARRY PIATT are buried in Greenwood
Cemetery in LaGrange Co IN. I visited all three of
these cemeteries in June and photographed the stones at
Pretty Prairie and Eldridge. The Greenwood Cemetery is
the large cemetery in LaGrange and it was too hot to
walk the cemetery looking for the stones that day. Now,
of course, I wish I had looked for someone to ask about
them.

HORACE PORTER PIATT was a grand old gentleman who
attended our Piatt Conferences for many years. I
believe he had quite and interesting life, his jobs
ranged from selling cattle feed to teaching French. If
our conference was held the same week as the Wimbledon
tennis matches he always took time out from research to
watch tennis.

The nine children of WILLIAM and HANNAH TINDALL PIATT
were JOSEPH TINDALL, WILLIAM, MARY ANN, NATHANIEL, ELIZA
BRAY, JAMES TINDALL, EUPHEMIA JOHNSTON, HANNAH MARIAH,
and ISAIAH.

I think information about this family has already been
posted on the list and can be found in the list
archives. I would try a search for TINDALL since there
are other Williams and Hannahs.
