Laverne,
First, a correction, the name is BOGAN cemetery according to the sign on the
fence there. Regarding the library at Frankfort, the woman that was in
charge when I was there probably around 1985, stated she was going to set up
a file for the James and Philip Piatt families because I also had a few
letters on file with them.
They did a check on the cemetery situation of Oak Hill, the old part being
known first as the HENDRICKS Cemetery. Some time later after I had been
there a few times, they did send me a letter and stated they could find
nothing on the Hendricks Cemetery, but they would continue to see if they
could learn anything.
One other note I think was always important, was that some people in the past
had questioned the middle name for Philip Piatt. According to his Bible
record it was stated as Philip Heffner Piatt. I did not see the record, only
the written copy of the material from the then owner of the Bible. If you
recall Tom Bowen who came to one of our conferences, who was a descendant or
his wife was a descendant of Philip, I do not recall, was going to check into
locating the Bible once again. I gave him the name and the address I had on
file at that time, but I have never had a reply. If you recall he lives down
(or did), near Indianapolis.
Dick Piatt, PA.
