With this posting, will finish all the info found in the PIATT bible.
Taken from an old yellowed one page letter , with writting on both sides:
It is very hard to read, almost looks like the person was writting in
German?
I'll do my best to read it. Also could someone, if know, list how these
PIatts listed in this bible connect?
Here we go.......
Thos. Carlyle a distinguished Britist Erscust philisopher and author was
born in Scotland in the yr. 1795.
In 1809 or 1810 he entered the univerity of Edinburgh where he graduated
after 7 yrs. Adopting the the proffession of an author he contributed to the
Edinburgh Encyelopide (?) and studied and translated many Germans works.
Among them are the "Life Schillier", Goeth Wilhelm Muster" which attracted
much attention. About 1825 he married a Miss Welsh and settled on a farm in
his native land. Soon after he began.....

to contribute to the Edinburgh Review, the foreign Quartly Review and
Feragers Magazine. In 1837 he published " Sarlor Resartus" (?) which he
preffered to have translated from a German Work.

Worshipers", which were afterward published.
In 1839 these appeared 5 volumnes of his essays entitled Miscelleaous Other
