Thank you for the reply. I do have access to that book. I am now looking
for someone that may have more documentation of the relationship between
Jeffrey and Captain John. I also have found the Piatt site.

I have a number of pages of information on early settlers of Woodbridge and
Piscataway NJ photocopied from the works of Orra Eugene Monnette. "Jeffry
Menning" is one of the early settlers. Capt. John Manning is listed, too.
Usually Monnette is the first work consulted by anyone researching this
area.
Perhaps you have already done so, but if Monnette's work has not been
available
to you I would be happy to check what little I have and share with you
off-list
unless it involves Piatts. In that case the information would be posted to
the
PIATT-L list.
