Hi Laverne,
I thought I replied to you, but I don't see anything in my "sent basket."
Anyway, I have reviewed Monnet's books many times and agree with most of
what he says. Based on a lot of research I fully agree with him on Captain
John Manning being the father of Jeffrey Manning. I have also checked the
Piatt list. From there I noticed Captain John Manning. However, I forget
who it listed his wife as, but at that time it wasn't listed as Abigail
Maverick. Someone may have corrected it by now. I might have contacted the
list owner. Thanks for offering to provide what you have, but, as I said, I
have seen that source.

Frank

For Frank:

I have a number of pages of information on early settlers of Woodbridge and
Piscataway NJ photocopied from the works of Orra Eugene Monnette. "Jeffry
Menning" is one of the early settlers. Capt. John Manning is listed, too.
Usually Monnette is the first work consulted by anyone researching this
area.
Perhaps you have already done so, but if Monnette's work has not been
available
to you I would be happy to check what little I have and share with you
off-list
unless it involves Piatts. In that case the information would be posted to
the
PIATT-L list.
